About Family Nurse Practitioners

You may be wondering what the difference between a Doctor (MD) and a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) is.

The answer is, not much!

Family Nurse Practitioners simply have a different philosophical approach.

Dr. Decker can do everything an MD can do. She can cast an arm, administer IV fluids, and perform minor surgical procedures.

The real difference is philosophy. Nurse Practitioners believe in patient advocacy, the idea that patients are not symptoms needing treatment, but people suffering from an issue causing symptoms.
